Frontier Laboratories, Ltd. was founded in 1991 by Dr. Chu Watanabe.  Dr. Watanabe, with the support of polymer scientists at Nagoya University in Japan, developed a pyrolyzer based on a vertical micro-furnace design.  Today the patented fourth generation vertical micro-furnace serves as the cornerstone for the 3000 Series of products developed and marketed worldwide by Frontier Laboratories. 

The main products include the Multi-Shot Pyrolyzer and the rapid catalyst screening reactors. The Multi- Shot Pyrolyzer which enables chemical characterization of virtually any organic samples, is used for identification of complex polymers, copolymers, and additives.  Frontier lab products have many applications in various industries, such as automotive, coating, inks, plastic formulation, rubber, electronic, forensics, and medical devices.
